RADFORD – FRIENDS of the Blue Ridge and Glencoe Mansion will open the third season of “The Glencoe Sessions” with a performance by Cole Ritter on Friday, Sept. 4, 6-7:30 p.m.
Tickets are $15 each and are available to purchase online and in person while supplies last. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.
Cole Ritter is a Nashville-born singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist whose sound blends gritty country, bluegrass, blues, and surf-western music. Best known for his appearance on season 20 of American Idol, where he was famously dubbed “the Michael Bublé of the guitar,” Cole has spent the last 20 years honing his craft with national touring acts and performing at venues including the Grand Ole Opry, Ryman Auditorium and Red Rocks. In January 2026 he released his debut solo EP.
“The Glencoe Sessions” is curated by rising bluegrass star Addie Levy and provides for an intimate listening experience with a diverse array of musical talent from our Blue Ridge region. “The Glencoe Sessions” takes place first Fridays from September through December.
Coming up in October will be a performance by Ashlee Watkins and Andrew Small followed by the reunion of Addie Levy and Gravel Road in November. The season will close in December with Justin Golden.
FRIENDS of the Blue Ridge, established in 1988, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering vibrant communities in the Blue Ridge that celebrate the area’s unique culture, natural beauty and quality of life. They do so by empowering volunteer groups, organizations and municipalities to coordinate special projects and events.
Glencoe Mansion is the historic 1875 residence of Gen. Gabriel C. and Nannie Radford Wharton and is now home to a dynamic community museum. “The Glencoe Sessions” will be held inside the beautifully restored period rooms where the audience can appreciate the history and beauty of the house while also enjoying music inspired by the history of the region.
