The Radford High School Foundation awarded a record amount of $65,250 in scholarships to members of the Class of 2026, marking the largest scholarship distribution in the Foundation’s history.
The milestone reflects growing support from alumni, families, businesses, and community donors who continue to invest in the future of Radford students.
“There are some exciting things happening at the RHS Foundation, Inc.,” said Chairman Abie Williams. “In addition to the record $65,250 in spring scholarships, we just received notice of the largest estate gift in our history. We will elaborate more in coming days, but the gift is indicated to be over $1,500,000 and the funds will be used for new scholarships and a school/community-based project.”
This year’s awards were funded through the foundation’s expanding portfolio of endowed and donor-supported scholarships, providing financial assistance to graduating seniors pursuing college, technical training, and other post-secondary opportunities.
Foundation leaders said the record-setting year demonstrates the lasting impact of community support and reinforces the organization’s mission of helping Radford students achieve their educational and career goals.
In addition to scholarships, the Radford High School Foundation continues to support students and teachers through classroom grants and other educational initiatives, further strengthening opportunities across Radford City Schools.
The foundation has awarded in excess of $1,060,000 in scholarships and classroom grants for teachers over its 40-year history.
