Two student athletes from Eastern Montgomery High School have announced plans to continue their playing careers at the next level.

Kayleigh Harmon will run track at Randolph College, while Colton Conner will play baseball at New River Community College.

The graduating seniors signed letters of intent this past week in the school’s library in front of teammates, colleges and family.

Harmon said Randoph College (ODAC, Division III) felt like a small family community.

“When I visited the college, everyone was really nice and friendly,” she said.

Harmon dreams of a career in sports medicine as an athletic trainer or a physical trainer.

“I also hope I can accomplish growth in personal development and also in sports. I hope to major in Sport and Exercise Studies: Coaching and Sport Performance,” she said.

In high school, Harmon ran the 100 and 200 meters and both the 100 and 400 relay events.

Conner’s goal is to major in mechanical engineering and will suit for NRCC in a program that plays

New River Community College is a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA). The college competes in Division II of the NJCAA.

In his senior year, Conner hit .510 with 32 RBIs, 22 stolen bases and 21 runs scored.
