The Montgomery County Sheriff’s office has arrested 56-year-old Anthony Cain after he made social media threats to kill Kentucky law enforcement officers and carry out attacks against Kentucky businesses and their employees.

According to a news release from the Murray Ky. Police Department, officers were made aware of threats posted to social media on April 25, which prompted the investigation.

Cain was then located in Virginia, where he was arrested without incident and charged with second degree Terroristic Threatening.

Cain was already facing charges associated with making a false report in March about an armed robbery at a Glendale, Kentucky church. He was charged with falsely reporting an incident, which generated an emergency response.

According to reports, police received a March 911 call reporting several individuals armed with firearms attempting to burglarize the Glendale Ky. Church of Christ.

This report prompted an emergency response from multiple local law enforcement agencies, and officers arrived on scene within minutes. An investigation was conducted, the caller was interviewed, and it was determined that there were no armed subjects and no attempted burglary.

Cain is also running as an Independent candidate to be the next sheriff in Calloway County, Kentucky.

Murray Police seek to extradite Cain to Calloway County Ky. to face the new charges.
