BLACKSBURG – YMCA at Virginia Tech has announced Exploring Art in the NRV, a community wide exhibition celebrating the extraordinary creativity, diversity, and artistic vibrancy of the New River Valley.
The exhibition will run through Friday, April 10, 2026 at the Y Community Art Gallery, located at 1000 N. Main St., Blacksburg.
Exploring Art in the NRV brings together an exceptional network of galleries, studios, creative businesses, educators, and artists who help shape the cultural landscape of the region. This collaborative show invites the public to discover the depth and richness of the New River Valley’s art ecosystem—one defined by innovation, inclusion, and a commitment to community connection.
Rooted in the YMCA’s mission to support the spirit, mind, and body of all individuals, the exhibition highlights the creative energy that strengthens wellbeing and fosters belonging. By showcasing artwork gathered from a diverse range of contributing partners, the exhibit underscores the NRV as a place where art thrives and where people of all ages and backgrounds can engage meaningfully with the arts.
The exhibition features contributions from several distinguished NRV galleries and creative spaces, including Montgomery Museum of Art & History, New Leaf Gallery, Art & Fiber – The Gallery, Jesi Pace-Berkeley, Artist & Teacher, Fine Arts Center for the New River Valley, Blacksburg; The Art Factory and XYZ Gallery.
Together, these partners represent the broad range of artistic talent and cultural expression that makes the region such an exceptional place for both creators and art lovers.
The community is invited to a celebratory reception on Sunday, Mar. 15, 2026, 2- 4 p.m., at the Y Community Art Gallery, 1000 N. Main Street, Blacksburg.
Guests will enjoy light refreshments, meet participating artists, and experience the creative spirit that defines this unique regional collaboration.
