The Big South Conference has revealed its 2025-26 men’s basketball composite league schedule.

The 72-game slate begins Wednesday, Dec. 31, and is a 16-game, double round-robin schedule to determine the 2025-26 regular-season champion.
The slate features two games a week over a nine-week span, and features five Wednesdays, four Thursdays and all Saturdays, with the regular-season wrapping on Saturday, Feb. 28.  Teams have two open dates during the conference season, with the byes scheduled during each half of the season (Dec. 31-Jan. 29, Jan. 31-Feb. 28).  All schools will play each other during the opening month of the campaign, with the second game of the season series scheduled at least two weeks apart.
Four Thursday national television appearances on ESPNU — Jan. 29 plus the final three Thursdays of the regular-season (Feb. 12, Feb. 19 and Feb. 26) — will be Wildcard selections 14-21 days in advance and chosen from the slate of Thursday games scheduled that night.
Defending Big South Champion High Point and new head coach Flynn Clayman will begin its league slate at UNC Asheville on New Year’s Eve.  The teams split last year’s season series, which were both four-point margins with the second meeting needing overtime.
New Longwood head coach Ronnie Thomas and his Lancers open conference play at home vs. Winthrop on Dec. 31, while Radford and new leader Zach Chu travel to USC Upstate that day to start the Big South season.  Gardner-Webb also opens the conference campaign on Dec. 31, as the Runnin’ Bulldogs will host Charleston Southern.  Presbyterian starts league action on Saturday, Jan. 3 at home vs. Upstate.
Longwood, UNC Asheville and USC Upstate will start and end league action at home, while Charleston Southern, High Point and Radford will begin and finish conference play with road games.  The two meetings featuring last year’s Championship game participants — High Point and Winthrop — will be Wednesday, Jan. 14 (at Winthrop) and Saturday, Feb. 21 (at High Point).
The season culminates with the 2026 Big South Men’s Basketball Championship, which will be held at Freedom Hall Civic Center in Johnson City, Tenn., from March 4-8.  The first round will be Wednesday, March 4, followed by four quarterfinal contests on Friday, March 6.  The semifinals are scheduled for Saturday, March 7, with the Championship game on Sunday, March 8.
