For those who have an interest in 3-D printing, New River Community College is offering two workshops in March.
“Hands on 3-D Printing” will take participants through the steps of manipulating and printing a 3-D file. Students will learn how to manipulate text, edit an existing file, export the printer file and start their own design using SketchUp. Participants will leave the workshop with their own customized 3-D printed object.
The workshop will be held Monday, March 13, from 9-11 a.m. in 109 Martin Hall at NRCC in Dublin (#4268).
A second workshop will be held in Christiansburg on Tuesday, March 28, from 6-8 p.m. in room 147 at the NRV Mall site (#4267).
The workshop fee is $40. For online registration, visit www.nr.edu/workforce, Classes & Programs, Non Credit Course Offerings and then search the workshop ID number.
NRCC also has 3-D labs open to the public throughout the week. The lab in Dublin is open Mondays and Wednesdays from 2 -4 p.m. in 109 Martin Hall. The lab in Christiansburg is open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2-4 p.m. in room 147 at the Mall site.
